As summer approaches in Europe, the weather patterns are heating up, and things are getting interesting! The tropical air, warm and balmy, is constantly battling the polar air, cold and crisp, creating a tumultuous atmosphere that's keeping weather enthusiasts on their toes.

But one thing's for sure - the dynamic of the atmosphere is changing. Despite expectations of constant rain or snow due to high pressure, the upper air low is leading to unexpected developments. With an unstable atmosphere, clouds are taking on the early formations of summer, and it's a sight to behold.

Just today, a short clip captured a cloud in the distance that rapidly transformed into Cumulus congestus, teasingly flirting with a Cumulonimbus capillatus formation before stopping short. The result? A quick burst of showers and even some small hail, lasting for a half hour to an hour. The trigger for this event was likely Orographic lift, as Appenzell sits at about 800m above sea level while Säntis towers at 2500m. Exciting, isn't it?
